Happy Holidays- We hope you have a safe and happy holiday and a Happy New Year!
2005 has been a great year for many of us in the club. I want to thank each one of you for your help as Macatawa has continued to grow and prosper over the last few years. When I look at the young women in this club and think about how far they have all come in their riding, their independence, their teaching, and their bond as team mates, it makes me so proud of all of them.
Thank you to all the wonderful parents that also make this possible for this great group of girls.
I would also like to thank Claire Tyner, for working with the girls, their horses, and all of us to make us a better pony club and to teach the great skills she has learned from her pony club years. We are so happy she has decided to join our club!!!
Lastly, thanks so much to the Faber Family for hosting many meetings and putting so much time and effort into our club. Mary will be the new DC for Macatawa and I know we are all looking forward to her leadership and knowledge of horses. Lynn Kamp will be our Joint DC. Barbara Helms will take over as Treasurer and I will serve at least initially as Secretary.
We would like to say good luck to Erin Smith. She is a senior this year and will be graduating from Black River. We will all miss her and her mom Cheryl. Cheryl has decided to continue to be a sponsor of our club so we look forward to her continued involvement next year in some way we hope!
Lily and Mary Cole have also decided not to re-join our club. We wish Lily lots of luck as she begins to work with her mom and their young horse on many fun and exciting things.
We would like to congratulate Kathy Jasperse and Jabula for their D2 rating they achieved this fall. Also, this year, Shaina Faber became our first C1 Pony Clubber.
In the spring Katie Helms became a D1 and Andrea Kamp became a D2.
Also, we have several new members joining our club. Aubri Stuk, Sydney Cavanagh,
Kayla Ockerse, Marie Fischer, . All of our new members are in 5th or 6th grade. Some of them have horses, lease horses, or are taking lessons. We are excited to add these young ladies to our club.
All new members will be receiving a copy of our local pony club policies as well as Medical Release Forms and other pieces of information when you arrive at the first meeting in January.
We will be having the fundraising party to sell jewelry, scarves and stockings again this year. The date will either be December 5 or December 12. We would all like to thank everyone that will donate their time and products to our upcoming sale.
We will also be sending out sponsorship letters for fundraising in the near future.
The Love Ads are due for the regional omnibus in the next month. Look for more information heading your way.
We will be participating in a tack sale this spring.
Also, we will need to purchase items or donate items for a gift basket that will be used as a Chinese Auction Item at Quiz to raise money for the region.
A new calendar is on the way! March 18th is the date for our Quiz Rally. Many of us do go on the 17th and spend the night so you may want to consider doing this as well. Please put it on your calendar now. We will have un-mounted meetings in the months previous to prepare everyone for this Rally.
We have two mounted meetings tentatively planned for November and December. The first is on November 27th in the afternoon and the other is December 11th. Both of these meetings will be held at Sue Frederick’s facility in Muskegon.
This is a Great Lakes Region learning opportunity for anyone interested in learning how to rate. It is also a great opportunity to involve your trainer’s in better understanding the Pony Club Standards and Rating system. We hope many of you in our club can attend this event. More details will be coming up in the near future.
