Get to Know Our DC

My name is Brenda and I have been part of Macatawa Pony Club since 2011. For the first few years, I was a new parent trying to figure out and navigate what Pony Club was all about. I remember being so overwhelmed. There was so much to learn and so many things I didn’t understand. But over time, as my daughter and I became more involved and attended more events, I (we) fell in love with this program. After a few years, I was asked to be on the Club board as Secretary and held that position for a couple years. This year, 2020 will be my fourth year as District Commissioner and responsible for the Macatawa Pony Club program. But I definitely don’t do this alone – Horsemaster’s, parents and our trainers – we all work together for the benefit of the Club.

I’ve also held the position of Secretary on the Great Lakes Region board and currently have the role of Regional Testing Coordinator (RTC) for the region helping DC’s plan and organize D-Level certifications for their club as well as assisting with Regional C-level certifications.

I love Pony Club and all that it teaches. It's not just horsemanship and riding skills either, it's the soft skills that are learned in Pony Club that become the life skills that help them for the rest of their life.

I looking forward to meeting you!

Brenda
